James Loomes - Director

Having a desire for working with people along with a family that have worked in the construction industry for generations there was a natural path for James when he moved into the recruitment sector back in 2007.

James began his recruitment career working for a large multinational agency in the East Midlands in the UK where he partnered with major and local builders, large subcontractors, civil contractors and house developers for resourcing of senior level white collar positions that included commercial, operational and design roles. Such roles included: Commercial Managers / Directors, Quantity Surveyors, Estimators, Planners, Construction Managers, Project Managers, Design Managers and Engineers. After 3.5 years in the UK market James moved with his employer to Sydney, Australia where he swapped the construction & engineering sector to work within, and later manage their logistics, supply chain and manufacturing businesses for NSW. Within this time James worked with many of the world’s leading pharmaceutical, FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) and medical device organisations where he successfully provided recruitment services to develop their operations in Sydney and Australia.

In early 2014 it was time for James to return back to what he loved, the construction and engineering sector and he joined an SME agency based in Sydney. In his time with the business James moved up to associate director and managed consultants across several categories including; architecture, design engineering / drafting (MEP, civil & structural), facilities management, office / business support and MEP (building services) construction and service & maintenance.  James himself worked predominantly with major HVAC/mechanical contractors across Australia & New Zealand where he would resource mid to senior level positions that covered; Drafters, Site & Project Managers, Contracts Administrators, Estimators, Engineers, Construction Managers / Directors and Building Services Managers. 

Now a dual citizen (Australian / British) James along with David Thompson have come together to form New Venture Recruitment, a fully privately-owned business that specialises in the construction & engineering sectors across Australia, New Zealand and the UK&I. 

Within the business James partners with builders and building services contractors (electrical, hydraulic, fire, BMS, security and AV) across Australia and New Zealand to resource high performing skilled individuals across the following job types;
